I feel like I need to pinch myself all the time – “work” for me is getting to coach people on how to live better and feel better and better yet – how to sustain the new lifestyle they find in this process! No crash diets! No six-week workout plan! But rather establishing life-long habits and moderation and finding health within each persons balance and boundaries. I began coaching with the Playtri Performance Center in 2012. Playtri is the hub for anything Triathlon and anything relating to health and wellness. We specialize in swimming, biking and running – but above all else, we specialize in getting people to a healthy state – physiologically, mentally and nutritionally. We’ve found that when all three are in balance – life is in balance and people can thrive!
I am passionate about what I do. I started gaining experience in nutrition at an early age thanks to a battle with anorexia. Through that, I've developed an absolute passion and heart for sharing my story and educating others so that just maybe I can help at least one person who is battling with the same issue.
As a coach I want to offer every bit of skill I have and will continue to grow, to help others find a healthy love for Triathlon and all of the wonderful that comes along with it! In my three years of racing I've overcome mental barriers and learned how to suffer well. "I CAN" is what I chant to myself. As a coach, I cannot wait to chant "YOU can!"
I would be doing myself a disservice if I did not mention my crazy, curly, blonde hair. It is, after all, my trademark. It renders the perfect vibe for who I am: lots of energy, depth and discipline, which when tamed is inspiring; and when wound tight (like my curls) is my driving force.

Eli de Moraes comes to you with 20+ years of international dance, yoga and Pilates experience. As a professional dancer she began her love of yoga and Pilates when utilizing both forms in her training and saw the results of a stronger, more efficient, healthy body. At that point, she knew she needed to share that knowledge with others. Her passion and uncanny talent lies in an inspiring and unique way of cueing and helping each individual client create simple shifts in awareness for more efficient ways of moving that best suits them. This, in turn, helps each to gain more from their workouts (with less effort!), move better though everyday life and avoid injury. She loves both her group and private clients who greatly range in age and ability: from 4 to 74 year olds, and from beginners to Iron Man athletes and firefighters.
As a former faculty member at Texas Christian University and various other universities, she holds two Master degrees and a partial Ph.D. in dance from the University of Surrey (Guildford, England) and Texas Women’s University, a 200 hour+ yoga certification registered with Yoga Alliance (Tantric Hatha and pre-natal), a 500+ hour teacher-training certification in Pilates, a group fitness certification through AFAA and is a certified “Dance it Out” instructor with Billy Blanks, Jr. She is excited and honored to be a part of Calamity Gym teaching both Pilates and a unique desk workout for anyone at work, or on the go! Look forward to attending her classes where you will gain a greater sense of strength and flexibility with grace and elegance!
